STAGING - The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum

Our acquisitions over the past five years have primarily been works from emerging artists created in the 1980s. We believe that you will find these works dynamic and provocative. Painting has changed radically in the 1980s. Most of the artists are highlighting recognizable figures or objects. It is fascinating to contrast the newer figurative painting of the 1980s with the different and more often non-objective approaches in works created prior to the 1980s.
